HR On The Money Lena
"Lena" is our 4 year old futurity filly. This is our first year to have a futurity horse, so we are just getting our feet wet trying to figure everything out about the futurity game. She is by HR Whiskey Money who has already produced a futurity winner of $25,000 (HR Bug Money - previously owned by Danny Ray and ridden by Alona James) in his few offspring that are running. Lena is a 3/4 sister to this awesome gelding who is now owned by Mike and Janelle Green's Southern Rose Ranch. She is out of a Doc O Lena bred mare. She is light on her feet and quick and catty in her turns. I love her and think she will be an outstanding AZ barrel horse! Update: 3/8/09 - Lena ran bottom of the 2D at $1,000 added Pine Bluff Barrel Bash with 162 entries! Lena ran an 18.0 at Ft. Smith futurity! Not bad since she was just loping barrels in December. It was quite a big pattern for her and she got a little lost going to her 3rd barrel and blew off a little bit since I didn't get her nose enough, but overall, I was very proud of her. Gunplay Poco Tina
Tia is one nice mare!! She is broke to death and is so much fun to ride and run. I have high hopes for her. She's was put on the backburner due to my pregnancy, but we are starting to leg her back up and I'm getting ready to run her more this year. I'm really excited to see how she how she does and I think she will be an outstanding open horse. We are also using her for a team penning/calf sorting horse and she is doing great at that as well. This is another sister to Lena! She is by HR Whiskey Money out of a daughter of PC Bronsin and by Lena's dam. We have high hopes for this filly and we think the On The Money Red crossed over the Sunfrost/Doc Bar lines will be a great combination. We can't wait to ride her in a couple of years!
